Foot Orthoses

Often called orthotics, these are also known as ‘shoe inserts’ or ‘arch supports’. Primarily designed to re-position your foot into a more functional position whilst you walk or run, they may be firm or soft and are made from a variety of materials.

Orthoses will reduce pain levels and improve stability and co-ordination. They may be useful to those that have a disability and/or symptoms in everyday life, who may be using an orthotic or special footwear already.

Orthoses may also be used by those that do not have any obvious deformity but may have pain or symptoms during or after sport activity, whether for leisure or at a competitive level.
