What does a typical coaching session look like?
Most sessions usually run for 50 minutes. The initial session will be a good opportunity to get to know one another better and discuss what you would like out of our coaching relationship. We will discuss any challenges you have, current strategies you are using, changes you would like to make and goals you would like to work on.
At subsequent coaching sessions, you decide what you would like to work on, whether it’s a goal, or clarity around a situation, and we will work collaboratively to design the steps required to achieve the goal. The coach supports the client by keeping them focused, motivated and accountable.
How long does a coach work with an individual?
The length of a coaching partnership varies depending on the individual’s needs and preferences. Most clients come to weekly sessions and then transfer to fortnightly or monthly. For certain types of focused coaching, three to six months of sessions work well. For other types of coaching, people may find it beneficial to work with a coach for a longer period. Factors that may impact the length of time include: the types of goals, the ways individuals prefer to work and the frequency of coaching sessions.
Can I claim on Medicare or health insurance?
No. There is no rebate through Medicare or health insurance.
Can I use NDIS funding for coaching?
In some circumstances, coaching can be covered through NDIS.
